Interim Management
Sometimes you're just too busy, or a senior manager / director is away, on maternity leave, has a long-term illness, or has been assigned to lead a critical project. At times like these your management capacity is inevitably stretched, and a common solution is to hire an Interim Manager / Director.
In most cases the Interim is very highly qualified, perhaps over-qualified for the job in hand, but that is often necessary in order for them to hit the ground running within your organisation. A high-quality Interim will have seen it all before, done it all before, and for them the challenge will be in doing it effectively in a new, alien organisation. Interim Management is implicitly a long-term full time commitment, so consultant availability is limited, however some of SBA's consultants do take on Interim work from time to time.
If you need a high-level, high quality Interim Manager please give us a call and we'll see if any of our consultants are available. We are primarily skilled in General Management and IT Management, but we may also be able to help with some Finance and Finance Sector roles.
Tip! If you interview a candidate to be an interim manager, one of your questions should be "If you are appointed, what will your exit strategy be and how will you manage it?". Any real Interim should be able to answer coherently, and the question will enable you to distinguish between the genuine Interim, and those candidates who are effectively unemployed - "permanent" managers who are currently between jobs and may have aspirations to stay with you forever.
